About Montego Bay Airport Layout
Sangster International Airport (IATA: MBJ) is located on Jamaica's north coast, about 3 miles (5 km) east of downtown Montego Bay. Unlike airports split across separate, shuttle-connected terminal buildings, MBJ operates a single terminal building organized into three concourses: Western, Central, and Eastern, all reachable on foot after security, with no inter-terminal shuttle required.
Understanding which concourse your flight uses before you travel saves time at baggage claim, immigration, and pick-up zones, especially during the winter high season (December through April) when the airport is at its busiest.
Montego Bay Airport Western Concourse Map
The Western Concourse holds a mix of gates in the lower-numbered range (including Gates 1-3), along with dining, retail, and a bar (The Bar)
Pick-up note: All arrivals at MBJ, regardless of concourse, exit through the shared Ground Transportation Hall, where car rentals, hotel shuttles, JUTA taxis, and intra-island airlines are located, just outside the Customs area.
Montego Bay Airport Central Concourse Map
The Central Concourse sits at the heart of the terminal and is the airport's main hub for shopping and dining, including the food court rotunda, the Guitar Bar, and several specialty retail and duty-free stores.
Pick-up note: Like the Western and Eastern Concourses, passengers arriving through the Central Concourse proceed to the same shared Ground Transportation Hall for pickup, ground transportation, and parking.
Montego Bay Airport Eastern Concourse Map
The Eastern Concourse holds the majority of gates (including Gates 8 through 17) and features additional dining, cafés, and specialty shops spread along the concourse.
Pick-up note: Eastern Concourse arrivals also funnel into the same shared Ground Transportation Hall, with clearly marked areas for private vehicles, JUTA taxis, and pre-booked transfers.
